For Injections, Starting IVs, Venipuncture, Minor Surgery
  1. Clean site with antiseptic.
  2. Holding the canister upright (no need to shake the canister), press actuator button firmly to dispense spray directly onto treatment site.
  3. Spray injection site for 4-10 seconds at a distance of 3-7 in (8-18 cm); if the skin turns white or blanches, stop spraying.
  4. Continue with procedure.
  5. Reapply as needed.
For Temporary Relief or Minor Athletic Injuries
  1. Spray affected area from a distance of 3-7 in (8-18 cm); if the skin turns white or blanches, stop spraying.
  2. Reapply as needed.
